Mrs. Kelin Flowers

I love teaching fifth grade, but most of all I love the BSH culture! I believe in having a classroom that fosters a positive and fun environment for learning. As a classroom family, we will laugh, celebrate our accomplishments, and cheer each other through challenges. As 5th grade is my students’ last year in Lower School, I help prepare them for the transition into Middle School. Each child has a gift; I’m blessed to have a profession that allows me to help them make their mark on the world! “Once a Flowers’ Flounder, Always a Flowers’ Flounder!”

About Me…

My family and I moved to Virginia 3 1⁄2 years ago from Austin, Texas. We absolutely love living in Powhatan! My husband Duane and I have been married for 12 years and have 3 beautiful boys. When I’m not cheering on the sidelines at my oldest son’s travel soccer league, I love watching movies and spending time with family and friends.

Education & Experience…

I completed my Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education at Southwest Texas State University in San Marcos, Texas. I have a specialization in Reading. This will be my 12th year of teaching. I taught in the public school sector, both 2nd & 4th grade, and this will be my third year teaching 5th grade at BSH. Being a part of a school where faith, family & education go hand-in-hand is truly a blessing.
