Giving Tuesday Donations Add Up, EVERY BSH Annual Fund Gift will be Matched!
This school year at BSH has been so exciting as we have been able to enjoy and appreciate the renovations and additional opportunities the generous $1.7 million donation from the Brower family has made possible! And this fall, and in particular giving Tuesday when another generous family anonymously matched up to $5,000, we raised $14,315 that day to reach our first goal of $75,000 in donations for BSH this year!!
Now EVERY Annual Fund gift for the rest of this school year through June 2020 will be doubled with the Browers’ $150,000 Matching Gift Challenge. There is the awesome potential to raise $375,000 with our community’s contributions being matched with Mr. and Mrs. Brower’s matching commitment.
Our Honor Roll of Donors is growing with 25% of parents, and 86% of employees having made a gift to BSH so far. Everyone is thrilled with the renovations and plans for more improvements and additional programs. If you haven’t already made a gift or a pledge, now is the time.
It is now more important than ever that we invest in our school. Every gift will make a difference for our students. (Click here to make a gift online)
Each year, we rely on Annual Fund to cover the gap in our budget to fully fund our athletic and arts programs, to meet the needs of our teachers, and to provide additional learning opportunities for our students, as well as necessary repairs which tuition does not completely cover. If you haven’t already made a gift or pledge, or if you are in a position to give more, now is the time to commit to BSH to invest in our people and our programs. Don’t forget gifts before December 31 are also tax deductible this year.
Our teachers and students are the heart of our school. We have talented, skilled faculty who could teach anywhere and be paid considerably more, but they choose to teach here – all because of their love for our students, and for their love of our school family. Contributions to this year’s Annual Fund will provide more opportunities for teaching and learning; we will expand course options for upper school students with additional electives which appeal to students’ interest; we will provide additional Chromebooks for all students and additional interactive visual displays for all classrooms; we will provide an athletic trainer for all girls’ and boys’ sports; and we will continue to make facilities improvements for the safety and well-being of our students and staff.
Mr. and Mrs. Brower’s love for this school and their extraordinary generosity should inspire us. So much has been accomplished in just a few short months, but there is so much more we want to do for our students. As a parent, I understand the desire for our children to have the best possible education in a safe and loving environment. I also understand the sacrifices we make for our children to have this special faith-based and values-based education. Our children are our hope for a better future for this world.
I ask all of us to please participate in giving to this year’s Annual Fund. Every gift will make a difference for our students. Thank you for believing in us and investing in our school. Faith, hope, and action have made all of this possible. Go Knights!
