Business Manager

Blessed Sacrament Huguenot (BSH) is seeking a full-time Business Manager. This is a 12-month position. The Business Manager reports directly to the Head of School and collaborates with other members of the Administrative team. The Business Manager oversees all daily financial operations of the school and performs functions including, but not limited to:

  • Prepares and monitors the annual budget at the direction of the Head of School.
  • Analyzes the many factors that comprise the school budget, such as enrollment, cash flow forecasting, inform and advise school administrators.
  • Maintains annual records of income and expenditures to ensure that all departments are within the budget constraint.
  • Manages all bookkeeping, accounting, and banking procedures for the school. Ensures timely payment of bills and files required by the Diocese.
  • Prepares the monthly bank reconciliation and the formal monthly report to the Diocese.
  • Reports to appropriate personnel on the financial status of the various departments, sports, clubs, and activities within the school.
  • Prepares all financial reports required by the Diocese of Richmond.
  • Performs human resource activities such as new hire paperwork, open enrollment, and terminations processes.
  • Handles and processes all Payroll information and complete all Payroll procedures and maintenance of employee time sheets, ensuring its completion according to the Diocesan schedules.
  • Oversees tuition management including enrollment contracts and tuition payment plans.
  • Maintains the confidentiality of the information overseen in the Business Office.

The ideal candidate will:

  • Have a minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in a related field and successful experience in the area of finance, accounting, systems operations and/or business administration. Previous educational or related nonprofit experience strongly preferred.
  • Be computer proficient; knowledge of Microsoft Office is required.
  • Possess a high level of professionalism along with excellent leadership, organization, communication, collaborative, and problem-solving skills.

Elementary Teacher

BSH seeks an enthusiastic, caring, nurturing, and committed Elementary School teacher for the 2021-2022 school year.
Required Qualifications: The successful candidate must have a Bachelor’s degree and current Virginia teacher license and endorsement in the assigned teaching areas.

Responsibilities

  • Model for students the mission and values of BSH
  • Demonstrate subject matter competency and effectively communicate subject matter to elementary-aged children
  • Devise a system of classroom order and discipline which contributes to the learning of all students
  • Be available to students who need assistance
  • Exercise professionalism at all times with students, parents, and colleagues
  • Demonstrate technological proficiency in the classroom
  • Other Duties as assigned

  • Experience as a lead Elementary classroom teacher

Part-Time STEAM teacher

BSH seeks an enthusiastic and dedicated Part-Time STEAM Teacher teacher for the 2021-2022 school year. Core duties for this position include teaching STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Agriculture, Math) to students in grades Junior Kindergarten through 5th grade. The position is approximately 8-10 hours per week.

  • Devise a system of classroom order and discipline which contributes to the learning of all students
  • Be available to students who need assistance

Part-Time Music Teacher

BSH seeks an enthusiastic and dedicated Part-Time Music Teacher for the 2021-2022 school year. Core duties for this position include teaching elementary and middle school music classes. This position will average 20-25 hours per week.

Required Qualifications: The successful candidate must have a Bachelor’s degree and current Virginia teacher license and endorsement in the assigned teaching areas.

After School Care Staff

BSH is seeking several enthusiastic, caring, and self-motivated part-time staff workers for its After School Care program for the 2021-2022 school year. After School Care positions are offered Monday-Friday, 2:30PM – 6:00PM.

Responsibilities:

  • Ensure development of positive relationships with students with a view to promote self-esteem and self- discipline
  • Maintain a safe and organized classroom environment
  • Assist the lead teacher in ensuring the physical, social, cognitive and educational excellence of children
  • Must demonstrate success and reliability in working as a member of a team

Qualifications:

  • A minimum of High School Diploma with relevant, proven experience working with preschool and elementary-aged children.

Instructional Assistant

Blessed Sacrament Huguenot is seeking a qualified Preschool Instructional Assistant. This is an approximate 25 hrs/week position.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist the lead teacher in imparting classroom instruction based on predefined curriculum
  • Ensure development of positive relationships with students with a view to promote self-esteem and self- discipline
  • Maintain a safe and organized classroom environment
  • Assist the lead teacher in ensuring the physical, social, cognitive and educational excellence of children
  • Must demonstrate success in working as a member of a team

Qualifications:

A minimum of High School Diploma with relevant, proven experience working with preschool aged children.

Substitute Teachers

BSH is seeking substitute teachers for grades Preschool-12th grade to ensure the continuation of instruction in absence of the regular teacher.

Substitutes will follow lesson plans created by the regular teacher, maintain established routines and procedures of the school and classroom to which assigned, assume responsibility for overseeing student behavior in class, during lunch, and other activity periods.

Athletic Coaching Opportunities

Blessed Sacrament Huguenot Catholic School is seeking  positive, passionate, and knowledgeable coaches for the 2020-2021 season. The Head Coach is responsible for coaching, character development, and providing direction to student athletes so that they might achieve a high level of skill as well as an appreciation for discipline, sportsmanship, and teamwork. This position requires thoughtful and respectful interaction with student athletes, fellow coaches, staff, parents, and the community. Positive communication strategies, organizational skills, and safety awareness are key requirements.

The ideal candidate will have previous coaching experience, the ability to organize and supervise an athletics team, and will be a role model that coincides with our school’s mission.
