EISTC – Education Improvement Scholarships Tax Credits

Thanks to Virginia’s Education Improvement Scholarships Tax Credits (EISTC) program, donations to approved foundations will provide scholarships for students from low-income families at non-public schools. Individual or business donors then receive a 65% tax credit.

The Catholic Diocese of Richmond’s McMahon Parater Scholarship Foundation is approved by the Virginia Department of Education to receive donations under this program. The Foundation distributes scholarships to qualifying students who attend one of the 30 Catholic schools in the Diocese.

By designating Blessed Sacrament as your school of choice, donated funds will come directly to our school, and allow students the opportunity to learn and grow in the BSH family. A solid Catholic education provides a foundation for success that will pay off throughout a child’s life.

To get started and take advantage of EISTC:

  1. Fill out and submit a Letter of Intent and Preauthorization Form today.
  2. Within 48 hours, MPSF will send your Approval Letter indicating your tax credits have been reserved for 180 days.
  3. Return the Signed Approval Letter with your check or securities transfer information to MPSF within 180 days of your approval date. Please make checks payable to McMahon Parater Scholarship Foundation.

You can support BSH and the MPSF through a monetary donation, stock donation, or by converting your IRA payout into a Qualified Charitable Distribution (QCD). Please review the EISTC sheets below for more information, and/or contact the Development Department at 598-4211 or [email protected]. We are happy to help walk you through this process.
