Ms. Amy Beals

I am a native of Chesterfield Co. Va. I went to school in Chesterfield and graduated from the first class of Monacan High School. I continued my undergrad studies at Longwood College. I entered as a voice major, but after the first year switched my major to Elementary Education with a minor in Voice. After I graduated, I began my first of 36 years in Chesterfield County. While in the county, I taught 1,2, 4th and fourth grade gifted. While my daughters were little, I went back to school at VCU and the University of Delaware where I earned a degree in Economics Education. After COVID and 36 years, I decided to retire from Chesterfield County .I found myself wondering about what was next. Well… here I am teaching 3rd grade at BSH.

I am a widow and have raised 2 daughters in Chesterfield. I have been very active in the Methodist Church. I have been a youth director, assistant children’s choir director, active in choirs and praise bands. As a youth director I lead several missions in Appalachia, Mexico and with Harvest of Hope on the Eastern Shore and in Hanover. I also went to Kenya, Africa and helped build an electric fence around a small village.
I have two beautiful daughters. Cara is at Brightpoint studying to be a funeral director and Ashton is in VA Beach working for the Embassy Suites connected with the Cavalier Resort.
